Southern Wales and England

The River Wye forms the England/Wales border for 58 miles of its length so as we travel around The Wye River Valley we will tend to be sometimes in Wales and sometimes in England. The valley was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1971 and includes Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire that are all places we will visit in this part of our trip. There is a 136-mile Wye Valley Walk which starts in Chepstow and finishes in the mountains of mid-Wales. We cross its path many times in our travels.
